In the budget for the fiscal year 2022-23, government workers’ salaries will go up by up to 30%, ARY News said. This was approved by the Punjab cabinet on Tuesday.
The budget plans for the next fiscal year, 2022–23, were approved at the special cabinet meeting, which was led by Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.
The provincial cabinet has agreed to give government workers a 15% raise in pay and pensions, as well as a 15% special allowance.
Details show that the employees will get a 15% raise in their base pay and a 15% disparity allowance.
But the disparity allowance will only be given to a few provincial government departments.
Today (Monday), provincial minister Awais Leghari will present Punjab’s budget for the fiscal year 2022-23, which will cost around Rs 3 trillion.
Sources say that there will be no new taxes in the budget and that special incentives and concessions will stay the same.
Also, Rs683.5 billion has been proposed for development schemes, Rs56 billion for the education sector, Rs173 billion for the health sector, and Rs11.95 billion for the “Saaf Pani” project.
Official documents show that Punjab has given Rs6.2 billion to governance and IT, however Rs500 million to labour and HR development, Rs6.3 billion to transportation, and Rs1.8 billion to emergency service (1122).
